'Worse than any nightmare' : Former Evadale Little League coach pleads guilty to transporting minors for sexual activity

Adam Isaacks, 40, will serve between 35 and 40 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender. He waived his right to an appeal.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A former Evadale Little League president accused of sexually assaulting at least eight children pleaded guilty to four federal charges in court Wednesday.

Adam Isaacks, 40, faces a total of 15 combined charges at the state and federal level for sex crimes against children.

On June 28, 2023, Isaacks was in federal court in Beaumont before District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

He pleaded guilty to four of seven counts of "transportation of minors in interstate commerce for purposes of sexual conduct."

He was first indicted on six of these charges December 2022.

A federal grand jury later added a seventh charge, according to a superseding indictment filed on April 5, 2023.

Four of his eight victims were transported to five states: Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma.

Isaacks will serve between 35 and 40 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

He waived his right to an appeal.

Attorney Cade Bernsen with the Bernsen Law Firm sat in the courtroom Wednesday.

"What these parents have gone through is worse than any nightmare I can think of," Bernsen said.

Bernsen is representing eight children and their families in civil lawsuit against Little League Baseball Incorporated.

The suit claims the organization provided Isaacks with a list of victims and potential victims and "giving him the means and method by which to impose his deviant will."

"In scandal after scandal, whether it's the boy scouts, whether it's the catholic church, whether it's Michigan State, these scandals keep repeating themselves, and youth organizations are on notice, there's no more excuses," Bernsen said.

A man that was trusted as a mentor and a role model, now disgraced.

Mothers previously told 12News, he's responsible for irreparable damage.

"They have stolen something from our children and my baby and that innocence he'll never get back," one mother said.

At least for now, some of the weight has been lifted.

"What a relief for them to finally see some justice, he's gonna serve time, lot's of time," Bernsen said.

A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.

Bernsen's lawsuit with Little League Baseball will pick up in September.

Isaacks originally faced eight combined charges out of two Texas counties. Those charges include five counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child in Sabine County and one count of indecency with a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Jasper County.

The investigation began in December 2021.

If found guilty on the federal charges, Isaacks faces a minimum of 10 years  or life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each charge according to the indictment. He could also face being on supervised release for at least five years and up to the rest of his life after serving his time.

The investigation into the case began in December of 2021 when a child in Jasper County told his parents about an alleged incident. Following an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Isaacks.

Deputies with the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office first arrested Isaacks on December 31, 2021. In early January 2022, Isaacks' Silsbee home was searched by law enforcement.

Bags of evidence were taken out of his home as part of the investigation.

Isaacks was taken to the Jasper County Jail in early January of 2022, where he was charged with one count of indecency with a child. As the investigation into Isaacks continued, he was charged with seven more state charges of sex crimes against children.

In January 2022, Isaacks' bonds were raised to a total of $6.5 million.

A date for his trial in Sabine County has not been set.
