BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont officials are working to clean up after an 18-wheeler overturns on Interstate 10 near the 11th street exit.
Officials on scene have closed both eastbound lanes and westbound lanes on I10 near the 11th street exit while they work to remove the overturned 18-wheeler.
According to Beaumont Police, the 18-wheeler flipped in the eastbound lanes of the interstate and landed in the median and in parts of the westbound lanes of traffic.
Hazmat crews are on scene.
Police say it could be midnight before all lanes are back open.
This accident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police say minor injuries were reported.
The flipped 18-wheeler has caused traffic to back up for several miles in both directions.
Police are asking people to drive with caution and avoid the area if possible.
The accident is under investigation.
