Southeast Texas is invited to celebrate Italian Heritage Month with la familia

The Italians of Southeast Texas invites descendants and friends to unite the Italian community.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The Southeast Texas community is gearing up to celebrate Italian Heritage Month with a number of events throughout the month of October. 

The 'Italians of Southeast Texas' group is associated with the Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in America, Lodge #2887.

The organization "promotes the appreciation and understanding of the Italian Culture and Heritage through civic and social events.” A few events are scheduled throughout October. 

The Italians of Southeast Texas have three events planned to celebrate Italian Heritage month, two of which are here in Southeast Texas.

  • On Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, you can meet with the group for the Columbus Day Italian Festival in Dallas. It's set to include live music, Italian food, children's activities, art, culture and a car exhibition.
  • On Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, the Italians of Southeast Texas is having an “Invitation to eat with friends” event at New York Pizza and Pasta-Downtown. The dinner is open to all Americans of Italian descent, friends and family. It's located at 790 Neches Street in Beaumont. 
  • Later in the month, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, the organization is hosting its Fall Festival from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Attendants are encouraged to stick around for the 5th annual spaghetti eating contest starting at 3 p.m. Children will compete for messiest face and spaghetti-eating champion.
