BEAUMONT, Texas — 12News is welcoming a new era of news in Southeast Texas.

12News KJAC anchor and investigative reporter DeJonique Garrison and 12News assistant news director Jordan Williams have been named the new evening co-anchor team for 12News.

"DeJonique and Jordan are the news team Southeast Texas needs right now," 12News’ News Director Daniel Brown said. "The community has trusted them with some of the biggest stories in the last few years -- from Harvey to Imelda -- earning them a reputation to deliver the news with both passion and humility.

Prior to making her way to Southeast Texas, Garrison was a multimedia journalist at WFXG Fox 54 in Augusta, Georgia. Garrison's southern roots, specifically experiencing natural disasters and political scandals in her hometown of New Orleans, created the foundation for her passion of service through reporting.

MEET THE TEAM: DeJonique Garrison

Garrison has been a big part of 12News' push to transform local news. She made a huge mark in the community for her work on developing The Beat on KJAC NBC.

For Williams, who is a native of Port Neches, this is an opportunity for him to deliver the news in his hometown. He returned home to Southeast Texas in 2018 after more than five years anchoring and reporting at WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York.

MEET THE TEAM: Jordan Williams

“Both DeJonqiue and Jordan have a knack for having a conversation with Southeast Texas viewers,” said 12News President and General Manager Paul Bergen. “They tell stories in a very engaged fashion, and we think Southeast Texas will be well-served with them at the desk.”
