NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — 911 emergency service is down for a part of Northern Newton County.
This outage affect landlines online. 911 can still be reached using cell phones.
The outage came because someone allegedly stole just under 1,000 feet of telephone cable along Highway 63 between west of Burkeville to Highway 87.
Repairs might not be done until Monday.
