BRIDGE CITY, Texas — Orange County deputies were called out early Friday morning after a tugboat crew member jumped overboard.
A representative from the tugboat company called the Orange County Sheriff's Office sometime before sunrise, Friday and told them that a man on the crew had jumped overboard according to the sheriff's office.
The man's body was found along the Orange County side of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway not long after a U.S. Coast Guard boat responded to the area near Veteran's Memorial Bridge.
Orange County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The name of the man will not be released until his immediate family has been notified.
