What restaurants are open Thanksgiving? Plus turkey dinners available across Southeast Texas

Organizations are giving free food to families for the upcoming holiday.

BEAUMONT, Texas — With the TPC Plant explosion and evacuation, many families across Southeast Texas have been forced from their homes.

50,000 people were ordered to evacuate after the Port Neches plant exploded Wednesday.

If you're looking for a Thanksgiving meal, we have found some restaurants that will be open as well as some businesses and organizations hosting free turkey dinners. 

What's Open on Thanksgiving

Many major restaurant chains will be closed on Thanksgiving. Chipotle, Olive Garden and Chick-fil-A will not open. But some McDonald's, Starbucks and pizza chains will be open. 

IHOP, Denny's, Cracker Barrel and Waffle House will also open their doors. 

Here's a breakdown of some chains across Southeast Texas:

Buffalo Wild Wings: Most locations are open

Burger King: Some locations will be open

Chili's: Not open Thanksgiving

Cracker Barrel: Open but hours will vary

Denny's: Open but hours may vary

Domino's: Open but hours may vary

Dunkin': Some locations will be open

Golden Corral: Some locations will be open; holiday feast @ 4 p.m.

Happy Donut: Not open Thanksgiving

Hooters: Some locations will be open

IHOP: Beaumont locations open today

Jack in the Box: Open but hours may vary

KFC: Some locations will be open

Little Caesars: Some locations will be open

McDonald's: Open but hours will vary

Papa John's: Open but hours will vary

Pizza Hut: Open but hours will vary

Popeyes: Some locations will be open

Sonic: Some locations will be open

Steak 'n Shake: Some locations will be open

Waffle House: Beaumont locations open today

Wendy's: Some locations will be open

Some Other Place: Beaumont location open

    • Recovery boxes include a turkey, food box, first aid kit, blanket and cleaning buckets and are free to the first 300 families. Orange County residents only. You're required to bring ID.
