Not guilty verdict for man accused in Port Arthur robbery, murder

The verdict in the trial of Daniel Keith Francis was announced just after 11 a.m.

A 35-year-old Port Arthur man will not serve time for a 2014 murder after a Jury Friday found him not guilty.

The verdict in the trial of Daniel Keith Francis was announced just after 11 a.m.

Police said Francis and an accomplice, Scott DeWayne Washington, robbed and killed Tuderriel Richmond, 36, of Port Arthur, as he was walking his dog on Dec. 6, 2014.

Jury members found that there was not enough evidence to convict Francis of the crime.

The trial was held before Judge Larry Gist in the Jefferson County Drug Impact Court.
