NEWTON, Texas — A 21-year-old Nederland man was killed early Wednesday morning after aa car struck an ATV along Highway 87 in Newton County.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating the wreck that happened at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024, along Texas Highway 87 at the intersection with County Road 3110, according to a news release from the DPS.
Kaleb Harvey, 21, of Nederland, was riding a Kawasaki ATV headed north along Highway 87 when it was struck by a southbound Nissan Versa driven by a 51-year-old Newton man the release said.
The ATV was reported to have been traveling in the oncoming lane when it was struck by the car, according to troopers.
Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene by a Newton County Justice of the Peace.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
