Warrant issued for man accused of punching man in face who tried to stop flag dragging

Terrance Watson was listed on the Orange County active warrant page as of Saturday afternoon.

ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A warrant was issued for the man accused of punching a Nederland man in the face after he tried to save an American flag dragging behind a car. 

Terrance Watson was listed on the Orange County active warrant page as of Saturday afternoon. Brandon Scott, the man who was hit, confirmed to 12News that Watson is the man.

Eyewitnesses told police that Scott told Watson about the flag dragging behind his car, thinking it was a mistake. That's when Scott said Watson punched him in the face and drove off. 

The incident happened on the 4th of July. 

Scott said he had to have his jaw wired shut at the hospital, but the hospital later released him.
