Oreo wants to pay people who put up their holiday decorations early

Oreo announced its Holiday OREO Allowance, encouraging people to put up seasonal decorations early.

WASHINGTON — With Halloween in the rearview mirror, many people thawing out their holiday spirit and getting ready to put up the seasonal decorations. 

While some might argue it's too early to bring out the tinsel, Oreo is looking to reward those who are prematurely setting up their holiday decorations before Thanksgiving. The brand announced Wednesday that it will give out $100,000 in prizes to 100 festive fans who share photos of their holiday decorations. 

"The OREO brand is always looking to help our fans and their families create playful connections, and there's no season that brings people together more than the holidays – so why restrict the merriment by waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate?" Vishnu Nair, Senior Brand Manager at the OREO brand said. "With the Holiday OREO Allowance, we are calling on our most festive fans to join us in bringing the magic of the season to life extra early this year."

Oreo will be giving out a $1,000 allowance to fans who follow the brand on social media and share a photo of their current holiday decorations on Instagram or X between Wednesday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 17. 

If you want to participate, you must use the campaign's hashtag #HolidayOREOAllowance and #OREOSweepstakes in the caption when you share the photos. 

The brand said winners will be chosen at random to receive the $1,000 allowance, a welcome kit, a yard sign and Oreo cookies to share with loved ones. 

The sweepstakes is open to resident of all 50 states, D.C and Puerto Rico who are 18 and older.
