Woman struck, injured by freight train in West Orange Tuesday morning

WEST ORANGE, Texas — West Orange Police, medics and firefighters responded Tuesday morning after a woman was struck and injured by a train.

The woman was struck by a BNSF freight train in West Orange just after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning near Dayton Ave and South St.

She received injuries to her arm, which was possibly broken\, according to West Orange Fire Chief David Roberts.

The woman, who was in stable condition, was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth for treatment he told 12News.

Officials are unsure of why the woman was on the tracks Roberts said.
