Geary Senigaur is one of the people who shared an image on Facebook announcing the “sick out.” As of Friday night, his public post has been shared more than 70 times. Parents who supported Monday’s “sick out” argued that doing nothing was just being passive. Not everyone supports the planned student protest, however. Some parents expressed concern that a mass movement to keep kids home would result in the schools losing valuable funds.

12News has reached to a BISD spokesperson to find out whether students who participate in Monday’s planned protest could face disciplinary action.

Meantime, we’re also working to find out when the signs at the stadium will be taken down.

Representatives for the Beaumont Chapter of NAACP members told 12News after Thursday’s vote that they’re debating their next move.
