Power City industry leaders connect and network at the Industry Advancement Expo in Beaumont

The expo gave people a chance to connect and learn about products that can help as Southeast Texas industry continues to expand.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Hundreds of people gathered at Ford Park in Beaumont to attend the Industry Advancement Expo, hosted by the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.

The expo gave people a chance to connect and learn about products that can help as Southeast Texas industry continues to expand.

All of the big players were at the expo to network and continue expanding unprecedented industry growth in Power City.

"We have so many friends in industry here today. It's just a great time for us to be here and network," said ISTC Marketing and Business Development Katie Celli.

Celli and Adam Jaynes work with ISTC, a company focused on the health and safety of Southeast Texas contractors.

"A lot of drug screening, breath alcohol testing, pre-employment physicals, as well as treating workplace injuries," said Jaynes, ISTC Director of Occupational Medicine.

Both Celli and Jaynes say healthy contractors translates to healthy industrial growth.

"This is personal for really both of us. And we want to make sure our family members make it home safely, as how they left," Jaynes said.

Safety is also important for Michael Benson, President and founder of Baron NDT,  a company that uses new technology to keep inspectors from climbing dangerous heights.

"We have a robot that goes up there. These crawlers, it eliminates scaffolding, people working at heights," he said.

State-of-the-art technology like the digital radiography system that shows the smallest cracks and faults long before bigger problems can arise.

"They need to build stuff, we'll inspect it and make them not worry about it," said Benson.

Making connections and promoting products is what it takes for a prosperous future in the Golden Triangle.

"It's very important that people understand who you are and what you're about," Benson said.

The hundreds who turned out today were able to open new avenues in the pursuit of further growth in Power City.
