67-year-old man's body found in wreckage of Jeep in Orange County on Monday

A dog had to be tranquilized because it would not allow anyone to get close to the man's body.

MAURICEVILLE, Texas — A 67-year-old man died following a recent rollover wreck in Orange County.

The wreck was discovered by a resident in the 1500 block of Texla Rd in Orange County Monday morning, according to Capt. Joey Jacobs, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office

The resident investigated after hearing a steadily barking dog and discovered a wrecked Jeep in a wooded area before calling authorities, Jacobs said.

When deputies got there they found the body of Donald Looney, 67, in the Jeep but the dog would not allow anyone to get close to the man's body and had to be tranquilized.

It is unclear when the wreck happened.
