Bar B Western Store owners closing up shop and riding into the sunset

Patsy says that she has enjoyed all the people that they have served over the years.

VIDOR, Texas — After nearly five decades of supplying Vidor with all their western needs, the Bar B Western Store is closing it's door for good.

Owners Patsy Bond and her son Alan Bond have officially decided to retire after opening the store all the way back in 1976.

In the 48 years of running the store, Patsy and Alan have both watched each of the their children grow and work there, along with many other Vidor kids, before they eventually headed off to college. Something Patsy always reminded them of was that education is important.

The Bonds prided themselves on being a family-owned store that would go above and beyond providing customers with the best possible service. According to Patsy, they also prided themselves on having the finest hat shaper around in Alan.

Patsy says that she has enjoyed all the people that they have served over the years and hates it for the customers that they are now closing.

However, Patsy did say that while it is bittersweet to close the shop, her and Alan are ready to start a new chapter in each of their lives with retirement.

"We've had a wonderful run," Patsy told 12News
