Two arrested for capital murder after man shot in chest in Orange Saturday

Trey Gibson, 17, died from a gunshot wound to the chest

ORANGE, Texas — A 17-year-old and 21-year-old have been arrested on capital murder warrants in a Saturday shooting in Orange that left one dead. 

Trey Gibson, 17, was shot once in the chest according to Orange Police Department. Clifton Hawthorne, 21, was arrested along 17-year-old Davion Riggs.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Burton Avenue.

From a Orange PD news release: 

On April 4, 2020 Orange PD investigated the homicide of Trey Gibson. Mr. Gibson expired from a single gunshot to his chest. On April 7, 2020 Orange PD obtained and served Capital Murder warrants on Clifton Hawthorne, B/M/02-26-1999 and Davion Riggs, B/M/05-23-2002 for the murder of Mr. Gibson. Both were taken into custody without incident.
