SILSBEE, Texas — Silsbee Police have identified a Silsbee man who was fatally shot Monday afternoon.
Marcus Demond Elam, 39, died after being shot Monday afternoon on 1st Street in Silsbee according to a news release from the Silsbee Police Department.
Reginald Carvin Kyles, 63, of Silsbee, has been charged with murder in connection with Elam's death.
Police took him into custody following the shooting.
Lifesaving measures were performed at the scene by responding officers and Crossroads EMS according to the police.
Elam was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Crossroads EMS according to the release.
Kyles' bond is set at $750,000.
