Two men shot, one in critical condition as Port Arthur Police investigate Monday night 'incident'

A 19-year-old man was taken to a Houston hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Police were called to investigate a shooting in the 900 block of Main Avenue at the Villa Main Apartments near Lewis Drive just before 7 p.m. Monday. 

When officers got to the scene, they found a 19-year-old Port Arthur man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hermann Memorial in Houston by helicopter, and was listed in critical but stable condition. 

Officers learned another 19-year-old Port Arthur man 'involved in the incident' was nearby with at least one possible gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to St. Elizabeth and is expected to be okay. 

There are two areas police are investigating, including a scene at the apartment complex and one a short distance away. 

Investigators say they're following up on some leads.

From a Port Arthur Police news release: 

On November 4, 2019 at 6:51 p.m. officers with the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to the Villa Main Apartment complex, 901 Main Avenue in reference to shots fired. A short time later, officers learned that there was possibly a shooting victim at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19 year old male Port Arthur resident with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower extremities. That person was transported by helicopter to Hermann Memorial Houston, and was listed in critical but stable condition.

Officers also learned that another 19 year old male Port Arthur resident was nearby that was involved in the incident who had at least one possible gunshot wound to his arm. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This case is currently under investigation by the Port Arthur Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
