LAREDO, Texas — A 28-year-old Beaumont man was fatally shot on Sunday in Laredo according to police.
Around 5:21 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, officers were called to the 4300 block of Santa Maria Avenue in Laredo for reports of a shooting according to a Laredo Police news release.
Investigation led police to locate a 28-year-old, John Lydell Tyler of Beaumont, who was shot once according to the release. A man who says he was friends with Tyler says he worked in scaffolding construction with Sunbelt while living in Beaumont.
He was taken to the Laredo Medical Center by Laredo Fire Department and was pronounced dead at the facility.
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide according to the release.
No arrests had been made at the time of the release.
