Galveston County Sheriff's Office detectives seek help with information on fatal shooting during Jeep Weekend

Detectives are looking for any video footage of the area between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on May 19.

BOLIVAR PENINSULA, Texas — Galveston County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking assistance with information about a fatal shooting that took place at Crystal Beach during Jeep Weekend.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting that happened on May 19 around 1 a.m. in the vicinity of Kahla Dr. and Gulf Shores Dr. near Beach Barrel #75. 

GCSO identified the victim as Troy Lacour Jr., 33, of Galveston. 

Lacour was found dead when emergency crew arrived and another victim had to be quickly transported to the hospital by air, according to Sheriff Trochesset. 

There was also another separate shooting where a person was grazed on the head by a bullet. One person was arrested after that incident.

These shootings are part of a concerning trend that police have been seeing during the annual event, according to Sheriff Trochesset.

Detectives are looking for any video footage of the area between the times of 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on May 19.
