Beaumont Police searching for Wyatt St. aggravated robbery suspect

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police released photos of a man who successfully evaded officers after he held an individual at gunpoint and stole his vehicle early Thursday morning.

The aggravated robbery took place at 2:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Wyatt St.

Officers located the suspect in possession of the stolen vehicle around 4 a.m. at a gas station on Concord Rd. and Delaware St.

The suspect led officers on a pursuit that started on Delaware St. and ended at a dead end on Jeanette St., according to police.

He got out the vehicle and ran on foot. During the foot pursuit, the suspect was able to successfully evade officers.

Police say that the suspect was able to get away due to "the high rate of speed, coupled with the improved mobility of the track-suit" he was wearing.

Officers believe that the suspect was picked up by an older model, light-colored Nissan Altima around 8:30 a.m. when it started raining.

The Nissan Altima is missing a hubcap on the passenger side and has loud exhaust.

Police believe that the suspect is still armed.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
