Beaumont man indicted for murder after fatal March shooting on Magnolia St

​Haymond is currently being held in the Jefferson County Corrections facility on a $900,000 bond.

BEAUMONT, Texas — 35-year-old Malcolm Haymond, of Beaumont, has been indicted for murder after he was involved in a fatal shooting in Beaumont's north end in March.

Haymond is accused of fatally shooting Nicholas Hughes Tuesday evening behind Ace's convenience store at Magnolia St. and Isla Ave., according to police

According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Haymond was initially identified as the man who committed the offense by a long-time associate, who he called that night and told he needed to "run".

Haymond is currently being held in the Jefferson County Corrections Facility on a $900,000 bond.

The call originally came in as a victim of a shooting. BPD responded around 7:06 p.m. behind Ace's convenience store on Magnolia St. Isla, according to BPD PIO Carol Riley.
