Former Beaumont middle school substitute teacher charged with improper relationship with student

He was previously charged with online solicitation of a minor in the case and had been released on a $250,000 bond.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A former Beaumont substitute teacher has been arrested on a second charge related to an improper relationship with a student.

Brandon Louis Chillow, 35, a former substitute at Vincent Middle School, was arrested Monday on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

His bond on that charge is set at $100,000 according to the sheriff’s office.

Chillow was previously charged with online solicitation of a minor in the case and had been released on a $250,000 bond according to the sheriff’s office.

After Chillow was out on bond investigators learned that he had allegedly had physical contact the female student and added the second charge.

Administrators at the middle school learned of the allegations on May 22, 2019 and he was fired on May 24, 2019, according to previous reporting.

On the evening of May 22, 2019 administrators at Vincent Middle School were made aware of allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a substitute teacher and a student. 

On May 24, the accused substitute was terminated effective immediately. 

The safety and security of our students is Beaumont ISD’s top priority, and the District is fully cooperating with the ongoing criminal investigation.
