BEAUMONT, Texas — Chandler Smith is a visual journalist and storyteller at 12News in Beaumont, Tx, specializing in general news reporting and editing.
He joined the 12News team in August 2021.
Smith is a native of Nederland and graduated from Lamar University in May 2020 where he worked for LUTV as a student. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications-broad casting.
During college Smith was part of the Lamar student crew that filmed weekly meetings of the Jefferson County Commissioner’s Court.
He also worked at several Southeast Texas restaurants while attending Lamar.
Smith is a self-professed cat person who enjoys watching films as well as working on them, listening to true crime podcasts and playing soccer.
