ROUND ROCK, Texas — One person is dead following a crash involving an Amtrak train in Round Rock, according to police.
The crash involving the train and an SUV happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday, along Interstate 35 and McNeil Road.
According to police, one person in the SUV was killed in the crash. That person was later identified as 76-year-old Peggy Carol Dreher of Round Rock.
Amtrak officials added that 46 passengers and five crew members were onboard the train at the time of the crash, but they reported no injuries.
The north and southbound frontage roads of I-35 were closed for hours but reopened around 3 p.m.
An investigation into what caused this crash is ongoing.
