At least one dead after crash on Highway 190 west of Jasper

Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.

JASPER COUNTY, Texas — At least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 190 west of Jasper in the Beech Grove community.

The  investigation showed that at around 11:45 a.m., a Ford F-250 towing an RV was traveling west, followed by a Ford Flex, while a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.

DPS says that the driver of the Chevrolet crossed over into the oncoming lane, causing the Ford F-250 to take evasive action to the right. The Chevrolet struck the RV and side swiped the Ford Flex, then drove into the ditch and hit multiple trees.

The driver of the Ford F-250, a 62-year-old Beaumont resident was not injured.

The driver of the Ford Flex and four passengers, including three children under the age of 10, were not injured.

The driver of the Chevrolet, who ahs been identified as 39-year-old Brandon Hadnot of Jasper, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace, the release states.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 190, approximately one mile east of Farm-to-Market Road 777, near Beech Grove, that occurred today, February 15, 2024. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 11:45 a.m., a Ford F-250 towing an RV was traveling west, followed by a Ford Flex, while a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling east. It is reported that the driver of the Chevrolet crossed over into the oncoming lane, causing the Ford F250 to take evasive action to the right. The Chevrolet struck the RV and side swiped the Ford Flex, then traveled into the ditch and struck multiple trees. The driver of the Ford F250, identified as 62-year-old John Ishee of Beaumont, was not injured. The driver of the Ford Flex and four passengers, including three children, a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 7-year-old, were uninjured. The driver is identified as 34-year-old Seth Perry of Beaumont. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 39-year-old Brandon Hadnot of Jasper, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
