BEAUMONT, Texas — Kayla Choates is a reporter at 12News in Beaumont, Tx, specializing in general assignment reporting.
She joined 12News in October 2022 several months after graduating from Texas Southern University in Houston.
Choates, who is a from California's Silicon Valley, earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism at TSU in May 2022.
She looks forward to immersing herself in her new Southeast Texas community and highlighting ordinary people performing extraordinary things.
Choates is a member of NABJ and when she's not working she goes by "KK."
"KK" enjoys binge watching true crime and reality TV, working out, playing with her dog, trying new happy hour menus and overall healthy eating.
