NEW ORLEANS — No tropical development expected

There are currently no tropical systems across the Atlantic Ocean and none are expected to develop over the next five days.

The area of low-pressure AccuWeather meteorologists have been monitoring in the northern Gulf of Mexico over the past several days is no longer expected to develop.

There are a few tropical waves traversing the Atlantic basin at this time. However, dry, dusty air will inhibit these tropical waves from becoming better organized.
