LIST: Where to get sandbags in Southeast Texas as Tropical Storm Beta moves in

Residents should plan to bring their own shovels to bag the sand.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — Sandbags are being offered at several places across Southeast Texas as Tropical Storm Beta edges closer to the Gulf Coast. 

Residents should plan on bringing their own shovels to all locations. Anyone collecting sand should wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines while filling bags. 

Here is a list of where you can find sandbags. 


Beaumont: Limit of 12 bags per household, available Monday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

"Please be patient and pay attention to signs and barricades," the city said in a statement. "To avoid long lines and heated tempers, try to find local businesses that sell sandbags that are already filled and may help you load them."

  • Beaumont Municipal Athletic Complex, 6455 College Street. Enter line from College Street, exit on Langham Street. 
  • Jaguar Stadium, formerly Babe Zaharias Memorial Stadium, 2445 Concord Road. Enter from I-10 service road and load sandbags on the St. Helena side of the stadium. 

China: Pct.1 Commissioner Arnold, 20205 W. Highway 90

Cheek: Pct.4 Commissioner Alfred, 7780 Boyt Road 

Hamshire: Pct.3 yard on Highway 124 

Port Arthur: Pct.3 Commissioner Sinegal, 5700 Jade Avenue 


  • Precinct 1 Barn – North Hwy 87 at North Teal Road
  • Precinct 2 - 11897 State Hwy 62 in Mauriceville directly across from Market Basket
  • Precinct 3 Barn – 2502 West Roundbunch Road
  • Precinct 4 Barn – 375 Claiborne Street

"The debris mission for Hurricane Laura has continued to run throughout Orange County. We had 300,000 cubic yards of estimated debris and as of yesterday afternoon, 208,000 cubic yards have been picked up. The mission and debris contractors will continue to work to get the debris removed as long as the wind permits."

Pinehurst: Limit of 10 bags per household, bring proof of residency, available Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city's Operations and Maintenance building, located at 3000 Gull Street. Enter on Lexington Drive past Foskey Veterinarian Clinic. 

Vidor: Sandbags are available at 155 Watts Street.
