Here are more flood-related closures across Southeast Texas in Imelda aftermath

Parkdale Mall is planning to reopen, but most schools and other businesses will be closed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — Most schools and businesses are still going to be closed Friday across Southeast Texas because of the effects of Tropical Depression Imelda. 


Southeast Texas city and county government + business closures: 

Parkdale Mall will reopen tomorrow, 9.20.19, at noon after being closed all day on 9.19.19, due to inclement weather conditions. 

The Cameron Ferry is temporary out of service as of 6:38 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. 

The Port Arthur Public Works Department-Solid Waste Division will recover the garbage collection routes missed today (Thursday, Sept. 19) beginning Friday morning due to the severe weather conditions experienced in our area over the past several hours. Please contact our Public Works Department at (409) 983-8511 for information.

The City of Vidor has issued a curfew overnight Thursday, Sept. 10 starting at 10 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 a.m. 

Orange County offices will remain closed Friday, September 20, 2019 and expect to re-open Monday, September 23rd for regular business. 

Legacy Community Health has closed all 36 Houston and Beaumont area community and school-based clinics at noon Thursday, Sept. 19 due to inclement weather that has caused flooding in parts of Houston and East Texas.

The Big Thicket National Preserve Visitor Center and Headquarters Complex will be closed until further notice, due to Tropical Storm Imelda. We have seen significant rain fall in the past 24 hours and anticipate more rain in the next 24 hours. 

The Central Mall area has flooded conditions, the City of Port Arthur posted on the city website. Also, PA Transit will not be operational for citizens using Routes 4 and 5. Those routes will be staged at the Public Library until further notice. This includes para-transit schedules. However, Routes 1, 2, and 3 will continue operating the normal schedules, including para-transit lines.
