BEAUMONT, Texas — It's either a trick or a treat (depending on how much you missed the cold weather). Southeast Texas is experiencing its coldest Halloween in 26 years!

A FREEZE WARNING has been issued for Tyler and northern Jasper and Newton counties from 4-8 a.m. Friday.

This warning does not include Beaumont.

All of Southeast Texas will be under a FROST ADVISORY overnight Friday.

Temperatures are plunging as the little ghouls and goblins get ready for Trick-or-Treating Thursday night. The mercury will drop into the low 50s to mid 40s during the peak of Trick-or-Treating.

It will be the coldest Halloween night Southeast Texas has seen since 1993.

A strong cold front blasted through the area Wednesday night bringing in the coldest air of the season.

That cold front also brought severe weather to Southeast Texas Tuesday.

Strong thunderstorms with damaging winds hit Hardin County the hardest. Silsbee and Kountze saw power knocked out to thousands.

There were numerous reports of roof damage. Kountze Intermediate School had part of its roof ripped off by powerful winds.
