After seeing some strong to severe storms within Southeast Texas on early Sunday morning, only scattered showers are expected for the afternoon hours.

No severe weather is within the forecast for the region over the next week. Instead, southerly winds will keep humidity levels high, and keep overnight low temperatures above average. Afternoon high temperatures will be right around where they should be for this time of the year, but the excessive humidity will push heat index values into the 90s.
