She says that just because you don't see workers, it doesn't mean workers aren't paying attention to your street. Crews work from the largest 'trunks' down to customers' individual streets according to her.

She reminds customers to check the outage map and sign up for text alerts.

The release says the company understands no one likes to be without power, and crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

From an Entergy news release:

Good afternoon,

I wanted to let you know that Entergy crews have about 80 workers addressing outages in the Beaumont area. This includes crews what came in from Louisiana, as well as Entergy contractors.

At the peak of the storm yesterday afternoon, 25,297 customers were without power throughout the Entergy Texas service area. Currently, about 1,500 customers are still without power, including 600 customers in Jefferson County. We had hoped to have all customers restored by today, but unfortunately, the storm damage was worse than expected and some customers in the Beaumont area won’t see their power restored until tomorrow.

In Bevil Oaks, about two dozen spans of wire are down, three poles are broken and several transformers have been damaged. Most, if not all, of this destruction is in the rear easement of customers’ residences with no truck access. This can tend to add significant time to restoration efforts. Estimated restoration time for Bevil Oaks is 4 p.m. tomorrow. The estimated restoration time for the rest of Beaumont is noon tomorrow.

We know no one likes to be without power, and we are working to restore power as safely and as quickly as possible.

We thank customers for their patience.
