HOUSTON — Southeast Texas residents traveling to Houston Friday night through early Monday morning may want to avoid westbound Interstate 10 which will be completely closed a times throughout the weekend for repairs.
The Texas Department of Transportation will be shutting down the westbound lanes of the interstate west of the San Jacinto River and expects them to cause major backups heading into Houston from Baytown.
The repairs and corresponding closures will happen from 9 p.m. Friday night, May 4, 2018 through about 5 a.m. Monday morning, May 7, 2018.
The suggested alternate route from Beaumont to Houston is to take Highway 90
Westbound lane closures will detour by proceeding westbound on the IH 10 Westbound Frontage Road.

- Exit 781B to Market St
- Dell Dale St. Entrance Ramp to the IH 10 W/B
- Sheldon Rd. Entrance Ramp to the IH 10 W/B
