PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A semi-tractor trailer and a car overturned on I-10 Monday morning during heavy rain.

The driver of the semi was headed westbound and going too fast on the wet roads and lost control around 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21 just east of Taylor's Bayou, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephanie Davis said in a news release. The semi went off the roadway and into the ditch.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicated this was a single vehicle accident with no injuries, Davis said.

Only one westbound lane was open to traffic as of 10 a.m. Monday.

Troopers said the road will be partly closed for the next 5-6 hours while crews work to unload the overturned semi, and drivers in the area should expect delays.

Another rollover accident happened on I-10 near Taylor's Bayou when a car going eastbound on I-10 hydroplaned and rolled several times, Davis said.

No information is currently available about injures in that accident.
