Man dies after motorcycle accident in Port Arthur Sunday afternoon

Officers say a man lost control of the motorcycle he was driving

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A man died Sunday from injuries he received after losing control of a motorcycle in Port Arthur, police said. 

Just before 4 p.m., Port Arthur police officers were called to the 2400 block of 25th Street about the accident. The man had major injuries, and was taken to a hospital. 

Officers later learned the man died from his injuries. 

The crash is still being investigated by the 'Advance Accident Reconstruction Team' of PAPD. 

The man's name hasn't been released. 

From a Port Arthur Police Department news release: 

On 5/17/20 at approximately 3:52pm Officers of the Port Arthur Police Department responded to the 2400 block of 25th Street in reference to a Major accident with serious injuries. Investigation revealed that a M/H was riding a motorcycle and lost control. The M/H suffered major injuries and is being treated at a local hospital. It was later learned that the M/H died as a result of his injuries. The incident is under investigation by the Advance Accident Reconstruction Team of the Port Arthur Police Department
