WINNIE, Texas — Deputies will be on scene directing traffic in Chambers County for a fatality accident reconstruction.

Interstate 10 eastbound at FM 1410 will be shut down from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 for the reconstruction, according to a Chambers County Sheriff's Office release.

Between those hours, there is expected to be a large influx of traffic coming through Winnie.

Deputies will help divert traffic from the main lanes onto the south feeder road. However, the sheriff's office said if residents and drivers can avoid the area or take another route without utilizing spur 5, it will save them time.
