Crash involving 18 wheeler sends four people to hospital with serious injuries

A Ford driver collided with the trailer of the 18 wheeler and continued underneath the trailer before coming to rest.

A wreck that sent four people to the hospital on Tuesday evening is under investigation.

On Feb. 11, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers arrived to the scene of a multiple vehicle crash in Tyler County around 9 p.m.

The wreck happened on FM 1013 near County Road 4535. Investigators say a 2004 Ford SUV was traveling east on FM 1013. 

Officials say a 2003 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was backing into a private driveway with the trailer blocking the eastbound traffic lanes of FM 1013.

The Ford driver collided with the trailer of the 18-wheeler and continued underneath the trailer before coming to rest, according to a release from DPS.

The 15-year-old driver of the Ford and the three passengers were all taken to Baptist Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, 54-year-old Anthony Guillory of Hillister, was not injured, reports show.

On February 11, 2020, at approximately 8:45p.m.,

the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on FM 1013 in Tyler County. The crash occurred near CR 4535 and involved a commercial motor vehicle.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2004 Ford SUV was traveling eastbound on FM 1013. A 2003 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was backing into a private driveway with the trailer blocking the eastbound traffic lanes of FM 1013. The driver of the Ford collided with the trailer of the 18-wheeler and continued underneath the trailer before coming to rest.

The driver of the Ford, 15-year-old Carly Jacobs of Kountze, and her three passengers were all transported to Baptist hospital with serious injuries. The passengers ranged in age from 44 to 7 years old.

The driver of the commercial motor vehicle, 54-year-old Anthony Guillory of Hillister, was not injured.
