BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are investigating an 18-wheeler wreck that backed up traffic along Interstate 10 and closed the westbound lanes for several hours near the downtown exit just west of the Neches River bridge.
The wreck involved one 18-wheeler and has damaged one of the concrete median walls according to a Beaumont Police Department spokesperson.
The driver of the truck was taken to a Beaumont hospital with non-life threatening injuries police said.
The truck appeared to be carrying a load of scrap metal.
