Port Arthur's Jamaal Charles set to retire

NFL veteran to sign one-day contract with Chiefs

610 Sports Radio in Kansas City reports that Port Arthur's Jamaal Charles will sign a one-day contract with Kansas City so he can retire as a Chief after spending the last two years with the Broncos and Jaguars.

The Port Arthur Memorial alum finishes his illustrious eleven year NFL career with 7,563 yards and 44 touchdowns. In that time Charles was a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time first team All-Pro selection. He is also the Chiefs all-time career rushing leader. 

Despite battling injuries over the years, Charles finishes his career averaging 5.4 yards per carry, which ranks fourth all-time in NFL history.
