KIRBYVILLE, Texas — With the State Semifinals just days away, the Kirbyville Wildcats are prepping for their matchup with the number one team Class 3A. But if you ask players like Tyler Brown, Friday's game against Wall is just another game. "It's a pretty good feeling. Knowing that we made history, but we just look at it as another game. We're going to go play it and get the best outcome.

Though sophomore slugger Hunter Wallis shares the same sentiment, he understands the impact his team has had on the community. "It means a lot. I know it means a lot to the community. But for the team it's just like Tyler Brown said, it's another game."

For Head Coach Craig Jones, his team is unphased by the number one team in Class 3A, and expects his Wildcats to shine come Friday morning. "You know everybody down there deserves to be down there. They fought the fight and they've survived all that. They're there to play. So everyone is going to be good down there. The team that goes down there and plays with the most heart and plays with confidence, preparedness will do that, that's what we're doing today."

With State experience already in his corner, Coach Jones is just as excited as his players and can't wait to see his team on the big stage. "It's great for the community. It's great for my players, their parents and the community. I've been there before, but every one of them is special. Just cause you've been there before, doesn't mean it takes away from anything. I'm looking forward to it. I'm excited, but I'm really excited for our players."
