BRIDGE CITY, Texas — Faced with an extremely tough week, Bridge City passed their first test with a convincing 5-1 win over rival Little Cypress-Mauriceville at Chuck Young Field.
The Battlin' Bears had a chance to tie the game early on at one when Logan Hamm's wild pitch found the backstop. Instead of grabbing the momentum, Hamm's tag on Anthony Bandiero at the plate killed the LCM rally.
In the bottom of the fram, Tanner Wilson extended the lead to three when he roped a pitch just inside the left field line to score a pair of runs. Then with two outs the Cardinals got an insurance run win Wilson was able to score on a throwing error.
