Vidor High School wins Band of the Week for week 8, passes award to Barbers Hill band in honor of their late director

BEAUMONT, Texas — The 409Sports' Band of the Week for week eight of high school football in Southeast Texas is the Vidor High School band.

Vidor edged past Barbers Hill 2282 - 2225.

However in a sweet twist the Vidor band chose to pass the honor to the Barbers Hill Band in honor of their late director David Johnson, 49, of Beaumont.

Johnson, who died on October 2, 2019, was a band director in the Nederland Little Cypress and Vidor districts as well as at Barbers Hill.
