KINGSVILLE, Texas — A manhunt for a Houston PD sergeant ends in Kingsville around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday when police and DPS surrounded the Hampton Inn on Highway 77.

According to officials HPD Sgt. Hilario Hernandez was wanted in connection to a homicide out of Pearland, Texas.

Officials received information from Pearland police about Hernandez Saturday morning, and he was later located at the hotel.

In order to make sure everyone inside was safe, crews set up a command and evacuated everyone, that's when officials say the suspect also walked out.

Hernandez was arrested and taken into custody and was questioned by Pearland officials.

Elizabeth Cantu who witnessed the event unfold said, "I had no idea what was going on, I thought it was a murder, I mean there was a lot of cops." She added, "Definitely doesn't happen here, it's a small town, you know everyone knows everyone.. not a lot of drama."

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Hernandez' car was also searched for any evidence relating to the crime in Pearland, that investigation is still ongoing.
