Silsbee ISD welcomes new high school principal

Scott Schwartz has 23 years of education experience, with 16 of those in administration.

SILSBEE, Texas — Silsbee ISD announced it is welcoming a new high school principal with 23 years of education experience. 

Scott Schwartz spent 16 of those years in administration, and was approved as Silsbee High School's new principal in a special meeting on June 1. 

He began teaching at Rogers High School and remained as a teacher and coach into 2003 at Jacksonville High School, later becoming the assistant principal there. 

He has served as principal of Rusk High School since 2008.

Silsbee ISD welcomes new principal Scott Schwartz to Silsbee High School after it was approved by the Silsbee ISD Board of Trustees in a special called meeting on June 1, 2019. Schwartz comes to Silsbee with 23 years of experience in education, 16 of those years in administration. 

He began his teaching career in 1996 at Rogers High School, and remained as a teacher/coach into 2003 at Jacksonville High School. He became Assistant Principal of Jacksonville High School in 2003, and later moved to Rusk High School as an assistant in 2006. 

Schwartz had served as Principal of Rusk High School since 2008. Schwartz is married to his wife, Julana, and they have one daughter, Kaylin, a student at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches.
