The Anayat House has officially opened it's doors.

The home provides accommodations for out-of-town families who have loved ones in our local hospitals.

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday at the new home on North 14th Street in Beaumont.

There are six guest rooms, a kitchen, living area, and a library with internet access.

The new home was built from the ground up from grants and donations.

"The land was donated to us by Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. They've been very gracious. It's a beautiful piece of property," said Sina Nejad, board member.

Since the move, the occupancy rate has sky-rocketed.

"It's going very well. The occupancy is at an all-time high," he said.

It's a safe and restful setting that comes at little to no cost for families.

"People that come to us already have quiete a number of problems. Their loved ones are in the hospital. They have major problems because they have to stay there for a long period of time and we wanted to see if we can take some of the burden off of them by offering accommodations comfortable for them to stay in," said Nejad.

There is extra land at the facility. Board members say they're already looking at expanding to double the capacity.
