City of Nederland announces closure of recycling drop-off center

The city cites a business decision by Waste Management as the reason for the closure.

NEDERLAND, Texas — The City of Nederland announced its City Recycling Drop-off Center will be closing due to a decision made by Waste Management. 

The company collects the city's recycled materials, and the city's Facebook post says a business decision is the reason for the closure.

Other options will be explored according to the post, in hopes of re-launching a recycling service for Nederland residents. 

The current drop off center will close at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
