Nashville man arrested in Lake Charles for making threatening Snapchat post

CALCASIEU PARISH, La. — A man from Nashville was arrested in Lake Charles after investigators said he posted a threatening message on Snapchat. 

Lucas J. McClellan, 22, was charged with terrorizing and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center Tuesday, July 16, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release. 

Deputies traced a Snapchat post with a picture of a rifle and the message “Don’t go to school tomorrow" to an IP address that matched to the home.

McClellan, one of the men at the home, told deputies he posted the picture. He said he was visiting Lake Charles from Nashville. 

Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
