BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police Department officers are investigating a hit and run accident that has left one woman in the hospital with serious injures.
Beaumont Police responded to an accident involving a person who was hit by a truck around 11 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Cleveland Street and Utica Street.
Witnesses told police that the woman was in the middle of the road when she was struck by a large, black pickup truck traveling southbound on Cleveland Street, according to a police report.
The driver continued driving after hitting the victim, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
This investigation is ongoing.

Beaumont Police Investigating Auto-Pedestrian Hit & Run- 3800 block of Cleveland
On Monday, May 11, 2020 at 11:01 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to Cleveland and Utica in reference to an auto- pedestrian accident. When Officers arrived, witnesses stated that the female victim was in the middle of the roadway when she was struck by a large, black, pick up truck that was traveling Southbound on Cleveland St. After striking the victim, the driver of the pickup truck did not stop and continued traveling South on Cleveland. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to call Beaumont Police at 409-832-1234.
